Jersey Mike’s franchise owners have a record year raising money for Augusta’s JMS Burn Center
Eric and Sandi Clark, owners of eight local Jersey Mike’s sub shops, have long supported the Burn Foundation of America, formerly the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation. This year they accepted donations for the foundation in their stores the entire month of March leading up to the 27th, when the Clarks donated 100% of the day’s sales, literally every single penny, to the Burn Foundation of America to support the Chavis House.
The couple were able to raise a total of $24,972.
The Chavis House is a comfortable home-away-from-home for family members to stay while their loved ones are at the Joseph M. Still Burn Unit at Doctors Hospital. “This is home to people for six months to a year while their family is in the burn unit. I mean, a spouse or a child is in that hospital that long. The family sleep there, they eat there, they shower there, they everything there” Eric said. Named the Chavis House after Jeffrey Vaden Chavis, a South Carolina firefighter who died in the line of duty, the guesthouse hosts families of burn patients for free.
The donation that will go a long way towards comforting people in their time of need.
The Clarks and the staff of the Chavis House and JMS Burn Unit would like to thank all those who participated in the fundraising effort.
Job well done!
