Was greeted by the torn remains of a box of condoms on one side of the bed and a roach on the other side. He got away from me at first – in the middle of the night I woke up and it was on the ceiling, so I was able to kill it. Garbage truck comes by around 3-4AM, it will wake you if you’re on the dumpster side. Air conditioner rattled a lot, I fixed it by shoving a towel in the screen. Internet stopped working several times. Front desk was very nice and helpful, he always reset the router when I called about the clogged interweb tubes. It served the purpose but I won’t be going to any more Travelodges.

I’m just waiting on my $20 refund from Hotels.com. Hotels.com was the best part of this hotel. Lets just say, I won’t return to the hotel again on account of I really dont like waking up at 3AM and having to call the cops!

our stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Upon our arrival when we walked into the room we noticed there were two open bags of potato chips on the night stand one eaten and one half eaten. there was also a can of soda on the tv. The provided shampoo bottles were half empty and the room was very unclean. We went and asked the manager about this as we thought we might have been in the wrong room. His response was that house cleaning did not do a good job. The next morning when we left we found a t-shirt laying between the beds that was not one of ours. it was either left there while we were gone or was actually in the bedding of one of the beds and it most likely was never changed. This hotel experience was horrible and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

They never had enough towels, we had to go get them ourselves, the bathroom was dirty when we arrived, they were very sketchy people that cleaned when and if they cleaned at all, they didnt want you around. I didnt trust them at all. I would definatley pay they extra money and stay somewhere nocer next time. I would not even have this hotel onyour website it is a disgrace.

This motel room was not just dirty, it was filthy. The A/C unit did not produce any heat on a chilly night. There were no drinking glasses, soap and towels that were thin as paper. The bathroom was a disaster, dirt it all the corners, the tub dirty. The night stand was covered with some sticky substance that seemed like grape jelly. The carpet had not been vacuumed in months.

I don’t understand any bad reviews this hotel received. It was clean, no bugs, quiet and well stocked. I only stayed two days, but I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers.

“Never again…..”

Worst experience in my life. No towels, no toilet paper, bathroom was nasty, horrible odor in the room, floor was wet. I had to sleep fully clothed on top of the cover because I was afraid of the beds. Really bad area. Never again.

“Stay Away”

This was a 1 night stay. Was in town for The Masters. Roach infested room in very poor condition. Carpet must be the original. Stained and holes throughout. Bathroom in disrepair and outdated. Mold growing in the coffee pot. Do yourself a favor stay away from this hotel.

The Insider

February6, 2014

The Augusta Richmond County Sheriff’s Department was out in force this afternoon at the Travel Lodge located at 3039 Washington Road next door to Wild Wing Café. The stated purpose of the deputies on the scene was simply to make sure no one caused any problems as the Richmond County Code Department went room to room checking for violations. Along with a drug sniffing dog.

A handful of rooms were condemned for violations concerning mold, water damage, etc.

But Insiders report that the Code Enforcement aspect is the easiest way to get to the root of the problem. Code investigations are a heck of a lot easier to execute than search warrants. Drugs and prostitution are what is really being looked into. While it is reported the motel has been a huge headache on Washington Road for quite some time, it has gotten much worse in the past six months or so. Prostitutes are known to take or meet their johns there. Drugs are peddled in the parking lot and parking lots of businesses around the motel.

4To Insiders it appears the county is attempting to shut them down the right way.  Same as the motel located on the opposite side of I-20 next to the Taco Bell which is closed for “remodeling”.

The fact of the matter is there are a handful of motels at the intersection of I-20 and Washington Road that are havens for prostitution and drugs. Check the personals on Craigslist or backpage.com. Prostitutes or their pimps list the location by name.

The proximity to I-20 is a draw for these types of illegal activities. During the day, if you know what you are looking for, you will see the prostitutes and pimps walking alongside the road in this one block area.

Business owners are happy the Sheriff’s department is attempting to do something to put these motel owners out of business. The owners of the Travel Lodge where today’s action took place are absentee owners and are reportedly incredibly difficult to deal with.

We applaud the effort of those involved in shutting down these well known houses of prostitution. Studies show a majority of the women involved in prostitution are there against their will. The pimps prey on the down and out and we as a community cannot turn a blind eye. Real human tragedies are occurring daily right under our noses.

I liked this article up until the last statement. Prostitution is the oldest profession, trying to demonize it makes it harder for it to become legal so none of this has to happen. So pimps go bankrupt, so we can have legal and safe brothels, and so these women can get proper medical care and monitoring. Also, they need to hit up knights inn and motel 6.

I hope they close that place down its too close to the city
