None other than Greenjackets’s team owner Jeff Eiseman joined in the discussion on the Metro Spirit’s article on the city’s shoddy $85,000 repair job on the 6,000 square foot deck at the Lake Olmstead Stadium. The very same deck the team constructed and used for many years.

In a missive on metrospirit.com, Eiseman addresses the comments from the Richmond County Commission concerning the deck not being “properly constructed”.
“I was not aware that the deck was (not) properly installed. I am pretty sure no one on staff knew that. We spent thousands each year on repairs to keep it in safe working order. Easy to blame the GreenJackets after the fact but name one injury or claim against us from the deck during our days there.”
Eiseman goes on to demonstrate the bad blood left between the management of the Greenjackets and the city of Augusta.
“I can’t speak for how they use it now. We knew it would need to be replaced and was near end of life as we were exiting.”
One would think sitting atop the hottest real estate development in the CSRA would be enough to heal old wounds, but obviously Eiseman is still smarting from his treatment in Augusta.
“It is amazing to me though they could find money to make Lake Olmstead better now when it is vacant all but 1 day a year, but didnt bother to do anything when we were tenants of the city’s building and had 70+ events a year not a one off annual bbq festival.”
