The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame is now accepting public nominations for its inaugural 2020 class.
The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame was created to recognize and honor a distinguished and select group of innovators, visionaries, leaders, and luminaries who have made significant contributions to the development and
advancement of the art, science, business, or sport of barbecue in the State of Georgia.

Hall of Fame co-founder and Executive Director, Greg Sebastian, explained, “Most people are familiar with the barbecue traditions and history of places like Memphis, Kansas City, Texas, and even the Carolinas, but they might be surprised by the achievements and contributions made by those with connections to Georgia.”
Anyone can submit two nominations per year. Nominees can include individuals, groups, teams, organizations, businesses, restaurants, or any other entity, including themselves. “It is time we started to publicly acknowledge those who made barbecue better by cooking, selling, competing, promoting, making equipment, or in numerous other ways,” said Sebastian.
Nomination forms and instructions are available on the organization’s website at gabbqhof.org. Nominations can be made directly online or forms downloaded and submitted by mail or email. Nominations received by May 1
are eligible for consideration for induction at the annual ceremony to be held in Macon, Georgia in August.
A Nomination Committee, comprised of a group of individuals selected for their diverse geography, experiences, and knowledge of barbecue will review and evaluate all nominations and present a list of finalist to a
Selection Committee for final consideration. The Georgia Barbecue Hall of Fame is formally recognized as a 501(c)(3)
non-profit charitable organization.
