Playing live in the Augusta area for the first time, Kid Rock will headline the inaugural Music for Action Service and Hope (MASH) concert.
Tickets for the Sunday, October 25, concert at Evans Towne Center Park will go on sale Friday, August 28, at 10 a.m. at mashaugusta.com. They are $30 in advance and $40 on the day of the show.
Created by Friends with Benefits, the show will support organizations like Operation FINALLY HOME, the Fisher House, Turn Back the Block and the Augusta Warrior Project.
Operation FINALLY HOME is a national nonprofit organization, supported by Kid Rock, that brings together a network of experienced homebuilders, building suppliers and supporters to provide custom-built, mortgage-free homes to wounded, ill and injured veterans, the widows of the fallen, and their families, creating a solid foundation to help them move forward in their lives.
The three local charities MASH benefits all have similar goals that include assisting military and their families. The Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. There are two Fisher Houses in the Augusta area that serve families of those being treated at the VA Hospital and at Fort Gordon.
Turn Back the Block utilizes existing housing stock and donations of property, funds, material and labor to revitalize the Harrisburg area of Augusta one house at a time. Once a home is completed, the organization then assists in the process of homeownership — often placing military families into new homes.
Augusta Warrior Project (AWP) connects warriors and their families who live in the greater Augusta area with resources that improve their lives. AWP develops a proactive relationship with warriors in order to prevent or mitigate life crisis by holistically addressing issues early and collectively, ensuring well-deserved support for our warriors and their families.
Additional artists will be added to the MASH lineup soon. Gates will open at 4 p.m. on concert day. In addition to general admission tickets, VIP tickets will be available. Those tickets include food, drinks and preferred viewing for $1,500 for a table of 8 or $150 a person. For more information about VIP tickets, email emilystevenson@me.com.
