The Public Services Committee will be discussing a number of interesting topics this afternoon. Commissioner Fennoy has placed “Discuss vaping/ E-cigarettes” on the agenda.
Mayor Pro Tem Sean Frantom has requested to “discuss the next steps in the gateway art sculptures – Sand Bar Ferry Road.” This after the commission put the brakes on the proposed sculpture at Riverwatch and Alexander Drive.
Commissioner Sammie Sias placed “Request a full clarification of the present operating hours for the Jamestown Community Center Park” on the agenda. “Presently the park is not open daily. Example; this past Sunday the park access gate was locked all day. This has occurred numerous times since in the past three months, particularly on Fridays and weekends. The public expects the park to be open daily.
Three months ago, on August 8th, FBI agents raided the home of Augusta Commissioner Sammie Sias regarding his management of the Jamestown Community Center.
The Administrative Services Committee will discuss “city properties held in abeyance for specific entities for extended periods of time by the Land Bank Authority” and Mr. Preston Tutt will address the committee regarding the Land Bank Authority’s processes for disbursements of city owned properties, requested by Commissioner Marion Williams.
There will also be a presentation from SP Plus on parking management implementation proposal and results of public hearings.
