Urban Air Augusta owner Billy Gilbert was checking in a shipment of ice cream early Thursday as workers were busy putting the finishing touches on different attractions in anticipation of the night’s soft opening. (The official first day of business is Saturday, September 19th.)

The former HH Gregg serves as a perfect setting for an indoor amusement park, centrally located off I-20 on Robert C Daniel Parkway. There is plenty of parking, it’s easy to get to, and at almost 50,000 square feet, there is plenty of room.

Customers pay for two hour passes, and in a stroke of marketing genius, Urban Air offers Endless Play memberships-”Unlimited visits at a fraction of the cost of a single visit.” Think the Six Flags season pass-ranging in price from $7.99 to $17.99/mo.

We caught up with Jordan Chambliss, the Assistant GM and Marketing Manager. (And throw in Cafe Manager for good measure.)

“The first thing I do when I come to work every morning is slide down that big slide right there. It always puts a smile on my face!” she stated. “It’s a fun environment here. Billy, the owner, is from Charleston, he just moved here to open up, and he is phenomenal to work for. He’s an incredibly kind guy with the biggest heart. Just the perfect boss” Chambliss shared.
There’s a cafe with a full menu, quite a few private party rooms, laser tag, and so much more.
“Bumper cars, a ropes course, a mono-rail like zipline “Skyglider” that winds overhead, a virtual reality game to square off with your friends, a dodgeball course, a trampoline park,” Chambliss said.
There are twice as many things to do than what we listed here. You’ll just have to check it out yourself!
