AB Beverage, the organizers of Papa Joe’s Banjo-B-Que Music Festival, announced Friday they are condensing and moving this year’s event, originally scheduled for May 22 & 23rd, to Sunday, September 6 – Labor Day weekend at Lake Olmstead Park in Augusta.
With all touring bands on lock down due to COVID-19, it is unsure what the line-up will look like then, but AB Bev’s Doug Varnadore reassures us-there will be a barbecue cook off.
According to the event’s Facebook page, the current ticket holders will receive partial refunds for the one day event. Ticket holders not able to make the new date will receive a full refund.
The 2020 line-up, which was announced in February, featured St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Mt. Joy, the Futurebirds, Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, the Punch Brothers, Yonder String Mountain Band, the Larry Keel Experience, Town Mountain, the Josephines, the Artisanals, Old Salt Union, The LIttle Roy and Lizzy Show, the Trongone Band, the Grassland String Band, the Mason Jars, Railroad Earth, Shovels and Rope, Allman Betts Band & the Lil Smokies.
